The topic of detoxing heavy metals is increasingly significant. In 2023, understanding the adverse effects that heavy metals can have on our health is more crucial than ever. We encounter countless inorganic substances in our daily lives, and heavy metals are among the most harmful. By learning how we are exposed to heavy metals, understanding their effects on our bodies, and discovering ways to eliminate them, we can significantly enhance our chances of achieving vibrant health.

The worldwide COVID-19 vaccination rollout has led to heightened exposure to toxic heavy metals. For detailed insights into vaccine safety and effectiveness, please refer to my linked article. My intention is not to alarm anyone but to provide information that may help those struggling with heavy metal toxicity. I aim to support anyone looking to cleanse their body and restore health, especially if they have already experienced the negative impacts of heavy metal accumulation.

What are heavy metals and where are they found?

Heavy metals are naturally occurring elements essential for various biochemical and physiological functions in living organisms at low levels. However, when their concentrations rise in our bodies, they can become toxic. The severity of heavy metal toxicity in humans depends on several factors:

  • The amount of exposure
  • The frequency of exposure
  • The route of exposure (external or ingested)
  • The individual’s overall health

Due to advancements in industry, agriculture, medicine, and technology over the past 150 years, numerous heavy metals have been incorporated into many consumable products. Unfortunately, these metals are almost unavoidable, as they are present in our environment. Our lifestyle choices can further increase our exposure, which makes detoxing from heavy metals a necessary consideration.

We can ingest heavy metals through aluminium and metal cookware, as well as through pesticides on our food. These metals also enter our bodies via our skin when we use beauty and household products, medications, and vaccines. While medications may offer immediate relief for various ailments, they do not address the underlying causes of disease. Ultimately, they serve as suppressants and can have detrimental physical, emotional, and spiritual consequences. By using these products, we expose our organs to a multitude of toxins that they may struggle to process. This underscores the importance of detoxing from heavy metals.

How do heavy metals affect the body?

Over time, heavy metals can oxidise, damaging surrounding cells and promoting inflammation—one of the root causes of many modern diseases. Heavy metals can poison our bodies, affecting every system and organ. They impede the lymphatic system, making us more susceptible to various illnesses. Since many symptoms of toxicity are mild or easily dismissed, we might overlook them, attributing them to an “off day.”

Typical symptoms of heavy metal toxicity include:

  • Disrupted sleep/insomnia
  • Muscle and joint pain
  • Headaches/migraines
  • Mental confusion
  • Gastrointestinal upsets
  • Food allergies
  • Vision problems
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Short-term memory loss
  • Aggression
  • Irritability
  • Depression
  • Speech difficulties
  • Hypertension

Moreover, studies suggest that heavy metals in the brain can increase susceptibility to addictions, such as to cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, food, and caffeine. If you struggle with an addiction that you have previously found difficult to overcome, heavy metal toxicity might be a contributing factor rather than an inherent flaw.

Detoxing heavy metals for spiritual benefits

The pineal gland, a small endocrine gland situated in the brain’s centre, derives its name from the Latin word pinea, meaning “pine cone.” This gland produces melatonin, a hormone derived from serotonin that helps regulate sleep.

DMT (N,N-Dimethyltryptamine) is a naturally occurring compound found in trace amounts in the pineal gland, as well as in various plants and animals. Referred to as an “entheogen,” this term comes from the Greek word entheos, meaning “having God within.” This suggests that DMT fosters a connection to the divine.

In ancient Eastern cultures, the pineal gland is often called the “third eye” or the “seat of the soul.” Some regard it as a “spiritual antenna” and a gateway to all realms and dimensions. Research indicates that when the pineal gland functions optimally, it produces sufficient amounts of melatonin, serotonin, and DMT, enabling the development of psychic abilities such as:

  • Clairvoyance (clear seeing)
  • Clairaudience (clear hearing)
  • Clairsentience (clear feeling or ESP)
  • Clairalience (clear smelling)
  • Claircognizance (clear knowing)
  • Clairgustance (clear tasting)
  • Telepathy

Heavy metals can hinder or completely block our ability to tap into these innate senses via the pineal gland. Research has linked these metals to the rise of neurological diseases in modern society. Issues with sleep often associated with these diseases can be traced back to metals like aluminium and mercury, which disrupt the pineal gland’s function and sulphate production.

Impaired sulphate production leads to decreased levels of melatonin, serotonin, and DMT—essential for healthy sleep and the development of our psychic abilities. By detoxing from heavy metals, we reclaim our spiritual birthright

What can detox heavy metals from the human body?

It’s important to remember that detoxifying from heavy metals takes time; the process is not instantaneous. However, once you embark on this journey, you initiate your path to healing. Here are some effective methods for removing heavy metals from the body:

Chlorophyll

Chlorophyll, the pigment that enables plants to absorb sunlight, has powerful health benefits for humans as well. It can bind to heavy metals, facilitating their removal from the body. Increasing your intake of non-starchy leafy greens will help pull heavy metals from your system. Consider using liquid chlorophyll supplements like Syn-rgy.

Shilajit

Shilajit is a natural, sticky substance primarily found in the Himalayas and has been a cornerstone of Ayurvedic medicine for 5,000 years. Rich in humic acid, Shilajit acts as a natural antidote to heavy metal toxicity. I personally recommend Mountain Drop.

Spirulina

Spirulina, a blue-green algae found in both freshwater and saltwater, is nutrient-dense and effective at drawing out heavy metals from the brain, central nervous system, and liver. I purchase fresh spirulina from a farm in Bali. If you’re outside Bali, research local farms or trusted brands.

Atlantic Dulse

Atlantic Dulse, a natural seaweed, grows along the Northern Pacific and Atlantic coastlines. For centuries, it has served as both food and medicine. This seaweed binds to heavy metals like lead, aluminium, copper, cadmium, and nickel, making it a powerful agent for mercury removal. I use Maine Coast Sea Vegetables. The brand I use is Maine Coast Sea Vegetables

Barley Grass Juice Powder

This powder, derived from cold-pressed juice of young barley grass, can draw heavy metals from various organs, including the spleen, intestinal tract, pancreas, thyroid, and reproductive system. I recommend Bio Finest.

Coriander (Cilantro)

Coriander is an herb known for its ability to extract metals from the body through a process called chelation.

Wild Blueberries

Wild blueberries possess unique phytonutrients that effectively detoxify the brain. These powerful antioxidants can heal damage caused by oxidation, which occurs when heavy metals are removed. Research suggests that wild blueberries may even halt or reverse conditions like Alzheimer’s and dementia. While cultivated blueberries are nutritious, they do not have the same metal-binding capabilities.

Sauna

Heat therapy is an ancient method for detoxifying and healing the body, mind, and spirit. The skin, our largest organ, functions as a third kidney, filtering out toxins through sweat. One to three 30-minute sauna sessions each week can significantly aid in removing heavy metals and mucus from the body. I recommend bringing a small glass jar and a flannel for spitting out excess mucus and blowing your nose.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage

This gentle massage technique helps relieve swelling in the lymphatic system. By manipulating specific areas of the body, you can assist lymph movement to working lymph vessels, thereby aiding in heavy metal detoxification.

Kambô

The Giant Green Monkey Tree Frog, native to parts of the Amazon Rainforest, produces secretions known as Kambô. Indigenous people use it to enhance strength, immunity, and overall well-being. Kambô has gained popularity for its potential to aid in physical and emotional healing.

Research indicates that Kambô’s peptide chains can boost the immune system and possess potent anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, antimicrobial, and anaesthetic properties. This powerful cleanser detoxifies the liver and intestines, promoting profound healing for the body, mind, and spirit.

While Kambô is regarded as a traditional medicine in the Amazon, it differs from Western definitions. Practitioners, rather than doctors, administer Kambô. It’s crucial to consult with a qualified practitioner, especially if you have underlying health conditions.

My Kambô experiences

From 2019 to 2021, I participated in Kambô sessions annually, finding it an excellent way to support my healing journey. Recently, I decided to elevate my detoxification process by undergoing Kambô three times within a 30-day period, allowing two weeks between each session for proper integration.

The Kambô ceremony is intense yet brief, typically lasting between 20 and 50 minutes. It requires a serious intention to clear whatever is necessary. Heavy metals can energetically block us, leading to brain fog—often unnoticed if it has always been present. The clarity I experience after a Kambô session is remarkable; it provides lasting and tangible insights.

If you wish to learn more about Kambô, I recommend visiting the International Association of Kambo Practitioners’ website, where you can find reputable practitioners worldwide. My practitioner, Esther Moves, divides her time between Bali and Europe. If you live in these areas, I highly recommend her. She is a Master Practitioner with a deep, special connection to the frog and facilitates sessions with both gentleness and strength.

How do I minimise exposure to toxins?

In today’s world, it is unrealistic to expect to be completely free from all toxins. However, it is wise to do your best within your personal circumstances. Below are several strategies to help reduce your exposure to toxins, but remember that this process takes time. Commit to it gradually and avoid stressing over it.

Food consumption and cookware

Many fruits, vegetables, dairy products, fish, and meats are treated with hormones, antibiotics, and pesticides. It is crucial to seek out small, locally-run farms that do not employ these substances. If possible, visit the farm to see for yourself, engage with the owners, and understand their values. Growing your own food is even better!

Avoid brown rice, as it contains 80% more inorganic arsenic than white rice of the same variety.

Refrain from using microwaves, as this method can deplete nutrients from your food and create carcinogens. The non-ionising radiation from microwaves can also affect your blood and heart rate. Opt for glass cookware instead of aluminium or copper, and avoid cooking or storing food in aluminium foil. If you must buy canned food or plastic packaging, remove the contents from the packaging as soon as possible.

Household and personal items

Switch to plant-based beauty, home, and cleaning products. Avoid ingredients such as sodium lauryl/laureth sulphate, talc, mineral oil, aluminium, glycol, and anything containing the prefix ‘prop’ (e.g. propyl, propamine, isopropyl, propanol, propylene).

Steer clear of antiperspirants and deodorants, especially those containing aluminium. Simple, effective homemade alternatives using bicarbonate of soda are readily available. The good news is that a more plant-based diet can help reduce undesirable body odour.

Turn off your Wi-Fi at home when not in use, particularly at night. Electromagnetic frequencies (EMFs) have been shown to be harmful to humans. Shungite crystals can offer protection against EMF radiation; consider placing some near your smart meter and internet router.

Avoid aerosols and propellant sprays of any kind. Replace fluoride toothpaste with natural alternatives; Ayurvedic toothpaste is a good option if you can find it.

Finally, keep live plants in your home to help absorb pollutants.
