A Paradigm Shift
Around the world, and to varying degrees, the menstrual cycle is seen as a hindrance. The majority of girls and women either actively dislike their menstrual cycle or are indifferent towards it. From a young age, girls are led to believe that their bleeding years will be full of stress, that their bodies will work against them, that PMS is a normal part of life and that Periods = Pain.
Most are not taught the nuances of their menstrual cycle, forcing them to live out of alignment with their cyclical nature which has detrimental effects on them, on their communities and on Mother Earth. These narratives are dangerous to women's psyche and must be left in the past. We are being called to embrace a more holistic approach to women's health - one that recognises the foundational role of our sacred menstrual cycle.
Your menstrual cycle is a blessing. Whether you choose to or not, it gives you the opportunity to carry and birth a human being into existence. This is the most Divine initiation and is both an honour and a privilege. Menstrual Cycle Awareness is not just about understanding reproductive health; it's about recognising its profound implications for women's physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being.
Through acknowledging the unique complexities of female biology, listening to and respecting women's voices and experiences, we see profound improvements in women's health and well-being. A healthy cycle is the foundation of your physical, psychological and spiritual well-being. Understanding this helps you to practice radical self care, boundary setting, and self love which is healing and empowering.
Understanding your menstrual cycle is the foundation for a thriving life. It allows you to feel comfortable in your body, to be deeply in love with yourself and to experience the joy of being a woman. By understanding the rhythmic fluctuations of your cycle, you can tailor your approach in how you care for yourself; allowing you to achieve vibrant health, a spiritual connection and embodied feminine leadership.
The women I’ve mentored have learnt how to live in harmony with their natural cyclical rhythm, helping them reverse issues like depression and anxiety, PMS and PMDD, bloating and cramps, endometriosis and PCOS. From here, they have gone on to experience joy, to achieve their potential in their personal and professional endeavours, have cultivated feminine leadership skills and have contributed positively to their communities.
A natural byproduct of becoming a cycle aware woman is that it has a ripple effect on your personal and professional relationships. You become a catalyst for change in your communities and on Mother Earth.
